When
Jesus started establishing the
Kingdom of God, who approached Him?
There was that blind man called Barthemeus. When he heard that Jesus was
passing by while in Jericho,he shouted, ”Jesus,Son of David,have mercy on
me!” The people around him were very angry because of his shouting. They
even said, “you blind, do not shout, you are a disturbance, but all the
more he shouted out, “Jesus, Son of
David,have mercy on me!”
And you know, Jesus heard
him! He stopped and paid attention to Barthemeus. The people did not mind
Barthemeus. They even consider him as non existent, of no value. But for
Jesus Bathemeus was the most important at that very moment!
Jesus said, “Call for him and bring
him to me”. Jesus singled him out; he called him. And once Bathemeus was infront of Jesus, He asked, “What do you want of me? Is there anything I
can do for you?” This is a very
beautiful encounter. Here is Jesus, a King asking a blind man,an ordinary man,
“what can I do for you?” His heart was full of compassion, love, and mercy to
the blind man. And so he replied to Jesus, “Lord, that I may see!” Jesus
healed the blind man and instantly he is
able to see!
That blind man was very happy! He praised the Lord. And he started loving
Jesus. The Kingdom of God has also come to his heart. And as he became united
with Jesus, he accepted the Kingdom of Christ, his heart was filled with Jesus
