Just
before Christ ended His physical presence on earth, He commissioned the Apostles, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the Good News to every creation (Mk.16:15). I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Go
therefore and make disciples from all nations I am with you always until the
end of this world.(Mt.28: 18-20) … you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes upon you; and you will be my
witnesses…. to all the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
This
Jesus (who was born at Christmastime), is the same Jesus who proclaimed His
mission in Nazareth when He said, “ the
Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor…."(Lk.4:18)
As
Jesus was to return back to the Father, He thought of the continuity of His
work by sending His disciples to do what
He had been sent to do, "As the Father has sent me so also do I send
you” (Jn. 20,21) then breathed on them saying, “ Receive the Holy
Spirit”.(Jn.20,22). The work of Christ has been passed on from generation to
generation down the centuries, and now is our time to proclaim the good news
(the Gospel) and make disciples of all nations.
We
proclaim the gospel by our life, by our witnessing and secondarily by
preaching/speaking, we do this by our own life, by our own witnessing. Christ
is depending on us in the accomplishment of this mission. Let this words ring
in your ears all the time, proclaim, proclaim
, proclaim, Christ so that you can make disciples of all times. Have you in
your own way drawn or have brought some people close to the Lord? So that now have become Christ’s disciples and are now proclaiming him to all
people .
