God calls all of us to be one with Him: not only the priests and
religious ,but all of us without exception. He calls the market vendors,
tricycle drivers, jeepney drivers, the farmers, laborers and all others. When we pray the Our Father, the prayer which Jesus taught his disciples, we realize that we all call on the same Father, therefore we are brothers and sisters. And if our faith is strong we would be able to see Christ in every person, we will realize
the presence of Christ in each
person that we meet.
For Christ Himself said, “whatever you do to the least of my brothers and
sisters, you did unto me .”(Mt.25:40) And your faith is strong when with the
eyes of faith, that is, with the inner eye, we see Christ in the other person.
God wants that we will be witnesses to
His love and His life. And as witnesses
we are supposed to call everyone to be closer to God. We are tasked to make
disciples of all and teach whatever He
has commanded. This is what He commanded, this is the mandate He has
given us.
Successful witnessing to Christ depends on
how much we trust Christ and how much of
God is with us. As
witnesses, Christ assures us of His help. He consoles us and accompanies us in
our journey, He said, “ Come, to me all you who labor and are burdened ,
and I will give you rest.”(Mt.11:28) And he always reminds us, “ Do not be
afraid.” (Mt.14:27) God is a Father, who indeed, is loving,
and forgiving what a Grace, what a consolation!
