In the Old Testament, through his
prophets, God made His love for his
people known. He said,
“I have loved you with an everlasting love.”(Jer.31:3) God had loved us
from all eternity. Even when we were not yet here, God was loving us already.
We are precious in the eyes of God. Because of his great love for us, he died
for us – for our salvation! Please do not think that his death was just for the
people during his time. Not so! In fact, St. Paul realized this, and when he
understood this, he was so happy! He said, “Christ died for me because Christ
loves me!”
All of you listening to me, and all of you reading this, God loves you very, very much! Without
exception! No one can say, “I am very
poor, I have so many problems, I have so many difficulties, I am sick, I am helpless!”
Please do not say “God does not love me, God has forgotten about me.” No, God
is always there loving you. His love is everlasting. He loves us always, He loves
everyone. He said so, "can a woman forget the baby at her breast and have no
compassion on the child of her womb? Yet though she forget, I will never forget
you. See, I have written your name upon the palms of my hands." (Is. 49:15-16)
