Beatitudes for Care and Healing

The story of the Beauty and the Beast is a beautiful story of healing.

Once upon a time a witch curses a handsome prince and turns him into an ugly monster. A beautiful princess saw him and fell in love with him. She kissed him and suddenly he changed into a handsome prince.

Love rubs   on to others. It makes them lovely. When  we meet people we can affect them to be  better or  be  worse. How  could we have good effect on others – make others lovely?
It is through LOVE – the only medicine that heals.

Sir Larenfel  was a  proud young knight in search of the chalice of the Holy Grail. Leaving the city he gave a coin to a leper he met. Failing to find the Holy Grail, he comes back an older man after much suffering. He had no money . He saw the  old leper still begging. He  gave the  last crust of bread he had. He took the bowl of the leper for water  and gave the bowl back  to the leper. When he did so, the leper turned into Christ and the bowl turned into  the Holy Grail he had been searching.

The people who are injured,in pain, suffering and sick whom we help and feed is Jesus Himself in disguise.

Beatitudes for Care:

1)    Blessed are those who care and who are not afraid to show it – they will let people know they are loved.
2)    Blessed are those who are gentle and patient, they will help people grow as the sun helps the buds to open and blossom.
3)    Blessed are those who have the ability to listen, they will lighten many a burden.
4)    Blessed are those who know and how to let go – they will have the joy of seeing people find themselves.
5)    Blessed are those who when nothing can be done or said, do not walk away but remain to provide a comforting and supportive presence – they will help the suffering bear the unbearable.
6)    Blessed are those who recognize their need to receive and who received with graciousness – they will be able to give all the better.
7)    Blessed are those who give instant hope of return – they will give people an experience of God.

Jesus said, “Go! And do the same likewise” We do  likewise as the Samaritan has done and we  shall have Life!”
